Radio City Christmas Spectacular New York reviews
The show was wonderful, five star but the distractions…
Loved the show! Distractions not so much. People arriving late and making no effort to get in their seat without blocking the show for the rest of us. Waving to friends etc. people were talking continuously thru the show. Then there are those that insist on recording or taking pictures when told not to. The ushers should remove them from the show. They were warned and they chose not to follow the rules, so remove them. It’s distracting both having their phones lit and having ushers continuously asking them not to record. The lit swizzle sticks need to go. People can’t refrain from waving them around throughout the show.
2022 Christmas S[ectacular
This was the first time for my wife orme. It was for our 17 y.o. exchange student from Germany. The student loves the holidays and was thrilled by the show. The show had changed a bit in the intervening 6 years since we last came, particularly with the addition of drones.
As usual a very pleasant part of the holidays for us.
However, a few criticisms. Radio City Hall is showing its age. It needs new carpeting to start. Also we caught the 500 PM show on 12/30. Because of the setup for NYE by the NYPD, roads were closed and getting in occurred at the last minute with no time to get drinks/snacks or look at souvenirs. Similarly, at the end of the show we were herded out to make room for the next show. Don't go near NYE, and if possible, book the last show.
Show is Great Staff is Not
I have seen the Rockettes Christmas show more times than I can count so I was real excited to get a great deal on tickets so I could bring my girls and share this experience with them.
The show was phenomenal but the staff was horrible. I have never encountered the rude and off putting behaviors I experienced at Radio City Music Hall before.
Needless to say this was probably the last time I will attend an event at this venue. In a post pandemic world it is NOT okay to be rude. One person actually came up behind me and put her hands on me which scared me, especially in the dimly lit auditorium. She believed I had my cell phone out but it was the family in front of us. However, she did not say a word to them nor did she apologize to me.
At the concession stands there were no "thank you" said after purchases. All around disappointing.
Disappointed
I was very disappointed. We took my almost 80 year old mother-in-law, who had never been to New York City, to see the event. We made sure to choose seats that had lots of leg room as she has trouble walking but chose not to use a wheel chair. We had a sound system booth directly in front of us obstruction our view with a bright light shining in front of us the entire event. I really was sad and disappointed for my mother-in-law as this was her only Christmas gift and she was looking forward to seeing them. My sister-in-law and I looked at the seating chart before purchasing our tickets. There was no indication that we would have anything in front of us. If I had know this would be the case, we would have purchased differetn tickets. Is there anything you can do. Thanks!!!
